Mohsin Naqvi Urges Citizens to Record Protests Peacefully

Islamabad: Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has urged citizens not to take the law into their hands and record their protests peacefully. In a video message today, he said following the martyrdom of Ayatollah Khamenei, every citizen of Pakistan is as saddened as the citizens of Iran. He noted that today is a day of mourning for the Muslim Ummah, as well as the people of Iran and Pakistan.

According to Radio Pakistan, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has visited the Red Zone, Diplomatic Enclave, and other areas to review the law and order situation in the federal capital. During his visit, he inspected the security arrangements and directed authorities to ensure foolproof security in the Diplomatic Enclave. Mohsin Naqvi said peaceful protest is everyone's right. However, any kind of anarchy under the guise of protest will absolutely not be allowed. He directed that security arrangements must be complete and comprehensive in every respect. The Interior Minister said the law will take its course against any disruption to daily life. On this occasion, Inspector General Islamabad Police Ali Nasir Rizvi also briefed the Interior Minister on the current law and order situation.
