Islamabad: The National Accountability Bureau has successfully recovered and returned the looted money to the victims of four housing projects in Rawalpindi and Islamabad. According to Radio Pakistan, a ceremony was held in Islamabad where cheques were distributed among the victims of Ghauri Town, Arain City, Gulshan Rehman, and Jeddah Town. Deputy Chairman NAB, Sohail Nasir, announced that 1.5 billion rupees were recovered from the managements of these housing projects. Director General NAB Rawalpindi, Mirza Muhammad Irfan Baig, highlighted that NAB Rawalpindi has recovered a total of 38.059 billion rupees in housing fraud cases. Of this amount, 32.825 billion rupees have been either returned to the public or deposited into the national treasury. DG NAB Rawalpindi further noted that since January 2023, 23.896 billion rupees have been returned to 8,000 victims.
