Islamabad: Ambassador of the Netherlands, Henny de Vries, hosted an event at her residence in honour of the Dutch and German hockey teams visiting Pakistan. The event aimed to foster international sportsmanship and strengthen ties between the nations through the shared love of hockey. According to Radio Pakistan, the Ambassador expressed her hope that such visits would lay the foundation for a long-standing tradition and contribute significantly to the revival of hockey in Pakistan. She emphasized the importance of sports diplomacy in bridging cultural and national divides. Additional Secretary Europe, Shafqat Ali Khan, highlighted the significance of the gathering, stating that it was not only a celebration of sports but also an opportunity to build relationships that connect people beyond borders. He praised the Netherlands' unparalleled legacy in hockey, noting that it serves as an inspiration for players worldwide.
