Islamabad: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has once again categorically stated that no firing was carried out by security personnel on the PTI protestors. Speaking to foreign media in Islamabad, alongside Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal, he emphasized that hospitals such as PIMS and Polyclinic have denied receiving any bodies or gunshot wound victims. According to Radio Pakistan, the Information Minister highlighted that PTI miscreants were armed with advanced weaponry and attempted to breach the red zone to cause chaos. He reiterated that security forces were present to safeguard the capital's sanctity, adding that there was no justification for the protests and clarifying that the government has no involvement in the cases concerning PTI's founder. Furthermore, Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal stated that the PTI founder is not a political prisoner but is facing serious charges. He pointed out that no politician, public office holder, or celebri ty in the western world would be allowed to evade accountability under similar circumstances. Referring to the events of May 9, Ahsan Iqbal remarked that no democratic country would permit any group to attack military installations or state institutions under the guise of freedom of expression or action. He lamented that PTI has consistently used its workers to further its political objectives.
