Islamabad: Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide is set to arrive in Pakistan tomorrow for a two-day official visit. This marks the first visit by a Norwegian Foreign Minister to the country in ten years.

According to Radio Pakistan, the visit comes at the invitation of Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar. During his stay, Eide will engage in delegation-level discussions with Dar, focusing on the full spectrum of Pakistan-Norway relations. The discussions aim to explore opportunities for expanding bilateral cooperation, particularly in areas such as trade and investment, climate change, renewable energy, education, and strengthening people-to-people connections.

In addition to bilateral topics, the two sides will exchange views on significant regional and international developments. This visit follows a series of high-level engagements between the two countries, including telephone conversations between their Foreign Ministers in March and April 2026, and the visit of Norway's State Secretary, Andreas Motzfeldt Kravik, to Islamabad earlier in May.

The visit seeks to reinforce the longstanding and cordial relationship between Pakistan and Norway, while also identifying new areas for mutually beneficial cooperation.
