Jeddah: The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has expressed support for the recently established ceasefire between the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and the Republic of India. The General Secretariat has urged the international community to intensify efforts to promote constructive dialogue between the two nations, aiming to peacefully resolve outstanding issues, including the Jammu and Kashmir dispute, in accordance with United Nations Security Council resolutions. According to Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, the General Secretariat has expressed significant concern over the military escalation in the South Asia region, particularly highlighting the strikes on multiple locations in Pakistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir. The organization has called for maximum restraint and actions that prevent further destabilization of the region. The General Secretariat reaffirms its commitment to the principles of the United Nations Charter and international law. It emphasizes the im portance of respecting state sovereignty and territorial integrity, and the necessity of adhering to agreements that protect civilians, residential areas, and civilian facilities, including places of worship.
