Pakistan has called for deploying greater political will to prepare a robust action plan for development. Delivering a statement during the Second Committee General Debate at the UN, Pakistan's Permanent Representative Ambassador Munir Akram proposed the establishment of a UN mechanism to facilitate public and private investment in sustainable infrastructure in developing countries, emphasizing that such a mechanism will revive FDI that witnessed a twenty-six percent decline in 2023. Ambassador Munir Akram emphasized the need for climate justice, scaling up climate finance, and trade reforms to support developing nations. He called for technology to be treated as a global public good, with a focus on intellectual property flexibilities and agreements on Artificial Intelligence. Source: Radio Pakistan
