Pakistan Calls Upon Afghan Authorities to Take Action Against Terrorists

Pakistan: Pakistan has called upon Afghan authorities to take verifiable and non-reversible action against terrorists. The call was made by Pakistan's Permanent Representative to the UN, Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, while speaking at the UN Security Council meeting on Afghanistan.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Ambassador highlighted the freedom with which terrorist groups operate in Afghanistan, resulting in Pakistan bearing the brunt of their attacks. He also pointed out the growing nexus between the Taliban and these terrorist groups. Ahmad noted that a significant number of Afghans have been found involved in terrorism inside Pakistan.

The terrorist groups are reported to have access to advanced weapons and sophisticated equipment, including drones. Ahmad expressed concern that the Taliban have reverted to old tactics of providing safe havens to terrorist groups. He accused them of choosing a perilous path of complicity, backed by an outside actor, described as a historic spoiler and instigator of chaos, waging a proxy war against Pakistan.

He emphasized that Pakistan will defend itself against any attempts to harm its sovereignty, territorial integrity, and national security. Ahmad asserted that Pakistan will not remain passive while suffering from terrorist acts and will respond in self-defense as needed, always in conformity with international law.
