Pakistan Dispatches Gaza Aid Shipment Via Egypt

Cairo: On the special directives of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, the National Disaster Management Authority, in collaboration with Al-Khidmat Foundation, dispatched the second shipment under the latest batch of humanitarian and relief consignments for the people of Gaza Strip through Egypt. A special chartered aircraft from Pakistan carrying 100 tonnes of humanitarian and relief supplies landed at El-Arish International Airport, Egypt.

According to Radio Pakistan, Ambassador of Pakistan to Egypt, Aamir Shouket, received the consignment and handed it over to the Egyptian Red Crescent Society for onward dispatch to Palestinian citizens inside Gaza. Ambassador Aamir Shouket expressed gratitude to the government of Egypt under the leadership of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and the Egyptian Red Crescent Society for facilitating the delivery of aid from Pakistan to the Palestinian people.

The Deputy Governor of the North Sinai Governorate, present on the occasion, acknowledged and praised the significant humanitarian and relief assistance from Pakistan for the Gaza residents. A total of 21 humanitarian and relief consignments containing over 2027 tonnes of relief goods have been dispatched to Palestinians in Gaza so far.

Ambassador Aamir Shouket reaffirmed that the Government and people of Pakistan will continue to provide much-needed humanitarian assistance for their Palestinian brethren at this critical moment. He mentioned that the next humanitarian consignments are on their way and will be delivered in coordination with the Government of Egypt to the Palestinians inside the Gaza Strip.
