Pakistani Minority Community Urges UN to Address Alleged Indian Atrocities in IIOJK

Lahore: The minority community in Pakistan has called upon the international community, particularly the United Nations and global rights bodies, to take notice of the ongoing atrocities allegedly being committed by the Indian government in India and Indian illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

According to Radio Pakistan, the demand was made during a news conference held in Lahore by members of the minority community. The focus was on the Pahalgam false flag operation and the alleged mistreatment of minorities in India. Minister for Religious Affairs of Punjab, Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora, highlighted the one-year anniversary of the Pahalgam incident, criticizing what he described as New Delhi's "hollow thinking."

Minister Arora argued that India misrepresents its internal issues as external ones, citing terrorism as an example. He claimed that while terrorism is an internal issue for India, it is presented as an external problem. Conversely, he argued that the Kashmir issue, which he views as an international concern, is portrayed by New Delhi as an internal matter. He further criticized the Pahalgam incident as a staged event founded on "empty and hollow thinking."

The Provincial Minister for Minority Affairs of Punjab also expressed sympathy for the victims of the Pahalgam incident, stating that India has yet to provide any proof or evidence related to the event. He emphasized that India has not adequately responded to numerous unanswered questions.

Minister of State for Religious Affairs, Kheal Das Kohistani, remarked that no religion condones terrorism or hatred toward other faiths. He accused the Modi government of using the Pahalgam incident as a pretext for aggression against Pakistan. Kohistani claimed that minorities in India are oppressed, with their places of worship being demolished and torched, while Pakistan exemplifies religious harmony with minorities enjoying their rights.

Rajesh Kumar Hardasani, a member of the National Paigham-e-Aman Committee Pakistan, expressed gratitude for the religious freedom and equal rights enjoyed by minorities in Pakistan. He praised the Pakistani state for supporting all minority communities, including Hindus, Sikhs, and Christians. Hardasani also lauded the Hindu community's patriotism and support for the Armed Forces of Pakistan, specifically commending Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir for his leadership.

Bishop of Lahore, Nadeem Kamran, echoed sentiments of religious harmony in Pakistan. He mentioned the recent visit of hundreds of Sikh community members to Pakistan for the Vaisakhi festival, who expressed appreciation for the hospitality extended by the Pakistani and Punjab governments.
