Pakistan’s Army Chief Reaffirms Commitment to International Peace

Rawalpindi:Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir has reaffirmed Pakistan's dedication to international peace during a meeting with United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres.

According to Radio Pakistan, the meeting took place in Rawalpindi, where Field Marshal Munir highlighted Pakistan's significant contributions to UN peacekeeping missions. He praised the efforts of the United Nations under the leadership of Secretary-General Guterres in promoting global peace, stability, and humanitarian cooperation.

The discussions between the two leaders covered matters of mutual interest, the current regional security environment, and the UN's role in fostering international peace and security. They also exchanged views on regional stability, the Jammu and Kashmir dispute, India's suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty, and issues related to terrorism originating from Afghanistan.

Secretary-General Guterres paid tribute to the sacrifices and contributions of Pakistan and its Armed Forces in combating terrorism and participating in UN peacekeeping operations. He acknowledged Pakistan's ongoing commitment to international peace and security and commended its efforts towards the peaceful resolution of regional conflicts.
