Muzaffarabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif emphasized Pakistan's defensive capabilities in response to Indian aggression, describing it as a "briefest yet most effective war" that India will not forget. He was speaking at a ceremony distributing compensation cheques to families of those martyred in the recent conflict, referred to as Marka-e-Haq.
According to Radio Pakistan, the Prime Minister highlighted the unity, courage, and faith of the nation as key components leading to economic progress and ultimate victory. He expressed hope for Kashmir becoming part of Pakistan in the future. The Prime Minister underscored that the country's measured military response demonstrated its defensive strength on a global stage.
Reflecting on the conflict's origins, Shehbaz Sharif attributed it to India's 'false flag' Pahalgam operation. He praised the Armed Forces and the citizens of Azad Jammu and Kashmir for their courage. Despite offering an international investigation, Pakistan faced attacks on Bahawalpur and AJK, resulting in casualties. In response, Pakistan downed six Indian jets and defended using Al-Fatah missiles.
The Prime Minister announced a compensation package for the families of martyrs and the injured, with 10 million rupees allocated for each martyr's family and 2-5 million rupees for each injured individual.
