Peshawar: The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has issued an alert regarding expected heavy rains accompanied by gusty winds in most parts of the province from Sunday until Friday.

According to Radio Pakistan, the PDMA has advised all relevant departments to remain vigilant and be prepared to restore road links for traffic in the event of closures caused by landslides. The alert underscores the potential disruptions that may occur due to adverse weather conditions.

Tourists have been specifically directed to avoid visiting the hilly regions of the province during this forecast period. This precautionary measure is aimed at ensuring the safety of visitors and minimizing any potential risks associated with the expected weather.

The PDMA control room is fully operational around the clock, and individuals can reach out by dialing 1700 in case of any emergency. The authority remains committed to managing any challenges that arise from the anticipated weather situation.
