PM Felicitates New PSL Teams, Extends Best Wishes for Future Endeavours

Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has extended felicitations to the Sialkot and Hyderabad teams of the Pakistan Super League and expressed his best wishes for their future endeavors. He was talking to representatives of the firms that won the bidding for two new teams, who called on him in Islamabad today (Friday).

According to Radio Pakistan, the representatives included Hamza Majeed of OZ Developers, the firm that acquired the Sialkot team, and Fawad Sarwar of FKS, which won the bid for the Hyderabad team. The Prime Minister also commended Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board Mohsin Raza Naqvi and the PCB management for successfully conducting the bidding process.

He said the live telecast of the PSL team bidding on television was a clear testament to the transparency of the process. He noted that the inclusion of two new teams would help promote cricket at the grassroots level and provide opportunities for new talent to emerge. Shehbaz Sharif remarked that the addition of these two new teams would prove to be a breath of fresh air for the PSL.

The Prime Minister also highlighted the participation of international firms in the bidding process, reflecting growing foreign investment interest in Pakistan. He emphasized that overseas Pakistanis have always played an important role in the country's development. Furthermore, the keen interest shown by both local and international firms in the bidding process highlights the rising popularity of the PSL at the international level.

Interior Minister and Chairman PCB Mohsin Naqvi as well as Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar were also present during the meeting.
