PM Sharif Denounces Israel’s Plan for Control Over Gaza City

Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has strongly condemned the Israeli cabinet's approval of a plan to take illegal and illegitimate control of Gaza City. He expressed his concerns, stating that this move represents a dangerous escalation in the ongoing conflict affecting the people of Palestine.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Prime Minister highlighted that this expansion of military operations would exacerbate the existing humanitarian crisis and hinder any potential for peace in the region. He pointed out that the root cause of the current situation is Israel's long-standing illegal occupation of Palestinian territories. As long as this occupation continues, peace will remain out of reach.

Shehbaz Sharif reaffirmed Pakistan's steadfast support for the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, including their right to self-determination and the establishment of an independent and sovereign State of Palestine with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital, in accordance with relevant UN and OIC resolutions.

The Prime Minister called on the international community to urgently intervene to halt Israel's aggression, protect innocent civilians, and ensure the delivery of much-needed humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza.
