PM Shehbaz and President Erdogan Exchange Eid Greetings, Discuss Regional Peace

Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif held a telephonic conversation with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to exchange Eid-ul-Fitr greetings. During the conversation, the Prime Minister extended Eid felicitations to President Erdogan, his family, and the people of Turkiye, which were warmly reciprocated by the Turkish President.

According to Radio Pakistan, both leaders prayed for peace, unity, and prosperity of the Ummah. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif strongly condemned the ongoing escalation in the region, particularly the missile attacks on Turkiye, expressing solidarity with the Turkish people during these challenging times.

The leaders urged the international community, particularly regional actors, to pursue dialogue and diplomacy as a means to resolve conflicts. They also discussed the situation in Afghanistan, acknowledging Turkiye's constructive role in promoting peace efforts between Pakistan and Afghanistan, notably in the context of the recently announced temporary ceasefire during Eid.

Prime Minister Shehbaz emphasized the collaborative efforts between Pakistan and Turkiye to enhance bilateral ties across all areas of mutual interest. Both leaders agreed to maintain close engagement to foster peace, prosperity, and economic development both bilaterally and in the broader region.
