PM Shehbaz Sharif’s Three-Day Visit to Bishkek Focuses on SCO Summit and Bilateral Ties

Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has arrived in Bishkek for a three-day official visit to the Kyrgyz Republic, where he was welcomed by Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan, Adylbek Kasymaliev.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Prime Minister's visit will involve participation in the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Council of Heads of State meeting and the SCO Plus Summit. During this visit, Pakistan will assume the Chairmanship of the SCO Council of Heads of State for the upcoming year.

In addition to his engagements with the SCO, the Prime Minister is scheduled to hold bilateral meetings with leaders from participating countries. He will also be attending the opening ceremony of the World Nomad Games, which is taking place in Bishkek today.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is expected to engage in bilateral discussions with President Sadyr Zhaparov, focusing on the full spectrum of Pakistan-Kyrgyzstan relations. The discussions aim to comprehensively review and explore avenues to enhance cooperation between the two nations, particularly in areas such as trade and investment, energy, regional connectivity, education, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges.
