PM Welcomes Board of Peace’s Progress on Disarmament

Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that Pakistan welcomes developments under the Board of Peace towards implementation of the process of disarmament under the Gaza Peace Plan. In a post on social media platform X, he conveyed appreciation for the mediating countries, including the United States of America, Egypt, Qatar, and Turkiye, for their efforts in achieving this progress.

According to Radio Pakistan, Prime Minister Sharif emphasized that under President Donald Trump's leadership, the progress represents a significant achievement for the Board of Peace. He expressed hope that these developments will lead to concrete steps towards implementing all commitments under the Gaza Peace Plan.

Shehbaz Sharif also highlighted Pakistan's hope that the ongoing efforts will eventually lead to the realization of the right to self-determination for the people of Palestine. He underscored the importance of a credible, time-bound political process, aligned with international legitimacy and relevant UN resolutions, aiming for the establishment of an independent, sovereign, and contiguous State of Palestine. The envisioned state would be based on pre-1967 borders with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.
