He said as a result of measures taken by the government foreign exchange reserves are increasing, currency is stabilizing, and the inflation rate has dropped to 9.6 percent. Bilal Azhar Kayani said government is utilizing all resources to provide relief to the public. He informed that the federal government has allocated a package of 50 billion rupees for consumers using up to 200 units of electricity. He said the Punjab government has provided relief to electricity consumers using between 201 and 500 units, providing relief of up to 14 rupees per unit in the bills for August and September. Bilal Azhar Kayani criticized the PTI government for bringing Pakistan to the brink of default.
