Lahore: Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal has announced that a comprehensive national policy is being formulated, in consultation with all four provinces, to counter Indian water aggression. This was revealed during the inauguration of the newly established Engineers' Lounge at the Institution of Engineers Pakistan.
According to Radio Pakistan, the policy aims to effectively safeguard Pakistan's water resources amidst ongoing regional challenges. To this end, a special technical committee comprising water experts and engineers will be established. This committee will provide technically sound recommendations to address water disputes and related challenges.
Highlighting the critical role of engineering for national progress, Ahsan Iqbal emphasized the need to mobilize engineers as part of a national mission to tackle Pakistan's pressing challenges. He reiterated that Pakistan's engineers are a valuable national asset, and their intelligence and hard work must be harnessed to advance the country's development agenda. The Minister assured that the government supports all engineering bodies in this mission.
