Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari has given his approval to several significant bills and government summaries.

According to Radio Pakistan, the approvals include the Islamabad Capital Territory (Prohibition of Plastic Book Covers) Bill 2026, an environmental protection measure introduced by Senator Sherry Rehman. This bill aims to address environmental concerns related to plastic use in book covers within the capital territory.

Additionally, President Zardari approved the Code of Criminal Procedure (Amendment) Bill 2026, marking another important legislative development. This amendment is expected to bring changes to the existing criminal procedure code, although specific details of the amendments have not been disclosed.
