Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari has given his official assent to a series of legislative bills passed by Parliament, along with approving several related summaries. These legislative measures include The Virtual Assets Bill, 2026; The Islamabad Capital Territory Senior Citizens (Amendment) Bill, 2026; The Privatisation Commission (Amendment) Bill, 2026; The Cannabis Control and Regulatory Authority (Amendment) Bill, 2026; and the NAB (Amendment) Bill, 2026.
According to Radio Pakistan, President Zardari also approved significant amendments to the Federal Constitutional Court Judges (Leave, Pension and Privileges) Order, 2025. In addition, he sanctioned the re-constitution of the Islamabad Subordinate Judiciary Service Tribunal, further indicating a focus on judicial reforms.
Moreover, President Zardari has approved the establishment of branch registries of the Federal Constitutional Court in major cities including Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar, and Quetta, which aims to decentralize judicial accessibility and enhance the efficiency of legal proceedings across the nation.
