President, PM Emphasize Modernization of Police Forces

Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have emphasized the need to enhance the capabilities of police forces, advocating for modern training and weaponry to effectively meet current challenges. According to Radio Pakistan, in their separate messages on this occasion, both leaders paid homage to the bravery and dedication of the police officers and personnel who have laid down their lives for the nation. President Zardari assured that the sacrifices of the martyrs will not be forgotten, and stated that the government remains committed to implementing measures aimed at supporting the families of those who have been lost.

Prime Minister Sharif highlighted the significant contributions of over 8,000 police officers and personnel who have sacrificed their lives in the war on terrorism, thereby preventing countless children from becoming orphans. He also praised the professional capabilities demonstrated by the Pakistan Police on the global stage, noting the medals and awards they garnered at the recent World Police Summit 2025 as evidence of their excellence.
