Prime Minister and President Discuss National Security and Political Affairs

Islamabad:Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with President Asif Ali Zardari at Aiwan-e-Sadr to address the country's political and security situation.

According to Radio Pakistan, the meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar, Adviser on Political Affairs Rana Sanaullah, the Attorney General for Pakistan, and PPP Senators Sherry Rehman and Saleem Mandviwalla, alongside Sharjeel Memon and Syed Nasir Hussain Shah.

During their discussions, the President and Prime Minister reviewed the national security situation, stressing the importance of effective cooperation among all relevant institutions to uphold peace and stability.

There was also concern expressed regarding the security situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The meeting concluded with a decision for a joint delegation, including representatives from the federal government and Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarians, to meet with PTI leadership the following day to engage in talks about the current political situation. The delegation will include Mohsin Naqvi, Rana Sanaullah, and Amir Muqam for the federal government, and Sherry Rehman, Syed Naveed Qamar, and Aijaz Jakhrani representing the PPP.
