Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif will undertake a three-day official visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia starting today. He is set to be accompanied by a high-level delegation, including Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, along with other ministers.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Deputy Prime Minister will join the delegation from Madina Munawwara following a brief stopover after his visit to Jordan for the Ministerial Meeting on Jerusalem. The visit aims to foster discussions between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, focusing on strengthening Pakistan-Saudi Arabia bilateral relations and exchanging views on regional and international developments of mutual interest.

The Foreign Office Spokesperson emphasized the significance of this visit, noting that it takes place against the backdrop of heightened tensions in the Gulf. The spokesperson highlighted that the visit aims to further enhance bilateral relations, deepen strategic cooperation, improve coordination on regional and international issues of mutual interest, and reinforce multilateral cooperation.
