Punjab CM Announces Distribution of 20,000 Green Tractors to Farmers

Lahore: In a significant move to support the agricultural sector, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has announced the distribution of 20,000 green tractors to farmers in the next fiscal year. Highlighting the importance of modernization in agriculture, she emphasized the necessity of modern machinery for farmers.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Chief Minister reaffirmed her commitment to leading farmers towards agricultural modernization. She stressed that the Punjab government is actively supporting small farmers by providing advanced agricultural machinery on a rental basis. This initiative is part of the broader effort to facilitate access to modern farming tools and practices.

Under the Chief Minister's Green Tractor Scheme, a subsidy of one million rupees has been provided for 9,500 high-power tractors. Additionally, 10,000 tractors with horsepower ranging from 50 to 65 are being made available to farmers, each with a subsidy of 500,000 rupees. This scheme is designed to ease the financial burden on farmers and encourage the adoption of more efficient farming methods.

The distribution of 20,000 green tractors next fiscal year is a testament to the Punjab government's commitment to advancing the agricultural sector and supporting the backbone of its economy.
