Islamabad: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has directed all relevant departments to remain on high alert in view of the monsoon rains.

According to Radio Pakistan, she instructed all Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners to closely monitor the weather situation and ensure timely drainage of rainwater across the province. Maryam Nawaz Sharif stated that the government is fully aware of the difficulties faced by people during the monsoon season and assured that immediate steps would be taken to address their problems.
