Punjab CM Invites AIIB to Collaborate on Key Development Projects

Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has extended an invitation to the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) to collaborate on development projects throughout the province. The invitation was made during a meeting with AIIB's Chief Investment Officer, Konstantin Limitovskiy, and his delegation in Lahore.

According to Radio Pakistan, the meeting provided an opportunity for the Chief Minister to brief the AIIB delegation on the ongoing development initiatives spearheaded by the Punjab government. Maryam Nawaz Sharif highlighted the success of the 'Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar' programme, noting that over 100,000 houses have been completed within the past year under this provincial scheme.

During the discussion, the Chief Minister expressed her appreciation for AIIB's ongoing cooperation, particularly in enhancing Lahore's water supply and sanitation infrastructure. She emphasized the importance of such partnerships in achieving sustainable development goals for the province.
