Punjab government has announced to replace all three and two wheeler vehicles with electric vehicles in Lahore division to cope with smog challenge. Senior provincial minister Maryam Aurangzeb while speaking at Punjab Assembly today said under Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif's initiative for distribution of 50,000 e-bikes among students, 15,000 have already been distributed. She stated that 650 e-buses are being introduced across Punjab, with 300 allocated only for Lahore. Maryam Aurangzeb said that for the first time, a vehicle fitness certificate regime has been introduced in the province She said the use of plastic bags is also being regulated, and the public is urged to report smog-related violations at helpline 1373.
