Retailer Scheme Opportunity to Fulfil National Duty: Kayani

Islamabad: Minister of State for Finance Bilal Azhar Kayani has announced that the newly launched Retailer Scheme offers traders an opportunity to participate in fulfilling their national duties while contributing to the strengthening of the economy. Kayani made these remarks during a follow-up meeting on the Small Shopkeepers Scheme, also known as the Retailer Scheme, held at the FBR Headquarters in Islamabad.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Minister emphasized the simplicity of the scheme, describing it as the easiest in the country's history. It features straightforward registration procedures, flexible payment options, and a tailored operational framework designed to facilitate compliance for small retailers.

During the meeting, FBR Chairman Rashid Mahmood Langrial explained that small shopkeepers could register by paying a mere one percent turnover tax, which would demonstrate their legal liability. He assured traders of maximum support, highlighting that registered green plates would act as a protection against unnecessary scrutiny from tax collectors. However, he cautioned that traders who do not cooperate may face strict legal consequences.
