Coordinator to Prime Minister on Climate Change, Romina Khurshid Alam has directed the Pakistan Environmental Protection Agency to take necessary measures to cope with the rapidly worsening air quality in the federal capital and its adjoining areas. She issued the directives after taking serious notice of the poor air quality in recent days in the capital city and its surrounding areas. Romina Khursheed Alam said addressing the causes of bad air quality require stringent enforcement of the relevant environmental regulations and fines. She urged all relevant official stakeholders including Islamabad Capital Territory Administration and Capital Development Authority to coordinate with the Environment Protection Agency in this regard.
