Coordinator to the Prime Minister on Climate Change and Environmental Coordination, Romina Khurshid Alam has stressed the need for slowing down global warming and overcome the devastating impacts of climate change, particularly in mountain regions. Chairing a PM's committee meeting on establishing a mountaineering school in Gilgit Baltistan, she said the success of the project is in team work and the suggestions of all the participants will be incorporated to finalize the establishment of the mountaineering school. Romina Khurshid said the major purpose of the project is to promote sustainable green tourism, mountaineering education and local community engagement ensuring environmental conservation. The meeting decided to form three sub-committees that will design a comprehensive curriculum and identify suitable locations to establish mountaineering school. Source: Radio Pakistan
