Colombo: The first match of the T20 World Cup will feature Pakistan taking on the Netherlands in Colombo tomorrow. The much-anticipated game is set to begin at half past ten in the morning, marking the commencement of the tournament.
According to Radio Pakistan, the national team completed their final practice session in Colombo today, with a focus on refining their batting, bowling, and fielding skills. Pakistan's upcoming fixtures include matches against the USA on Tuesday and Namibia on the 18th of this month. However, their highly awaited clash with India, originally scheduled for the 15th, has been canceled as the government has barred Pakistan's participation in that match.
The tournament format dictates that the top two teams from each group will advance to the Super Eight stage. The semi-finals are slated for the 4th and 5th of next month. If Pakistan qualifies for the knockout matches, these will be held in Colombo. Otherwise, the designated venues for the knockout stage are Kolkata and Ahmedabad.
