Islamabad: Minister for Railways Muhammad Hanif Abbasi has announced that Trkiye plays a crucial role as a strategic technology partner in the modernization and industrial development of Pakistan Railways. According to Radio Pakistan, Abbasi emphasized the importance of digital transformation in Pakistan Railways, highlighting modern traffic management, fiber-optic communication systems, and safe railway operations as top government priorities. The minister elaborated on efforts to transform Pakistan Railways into a more efficient, safer, and competitive system by integrating advanced technologies.

He further stated that the adoption of sophisticated railway technologies is vital for the successful implementation of key projects such as ML-1, ML-3, and the Islamabad-Tehran-Istanbul (ITI) Freight Corridor. The two nations explored potential collaborations in advanced signaling, telecommunications, cybersecurity, and automatic train control. They also discussed plans to upgrade the Carriage Factory Islamabad and Pakistan Railways' workshops with cutting-edge technologies.

Both parties agreed to strengthen cooperation in areas such as engineers' training, technical skills transfer, research, cybersecurity, and human resource development, signaling a significant step forward in the technological advancement of Pakistan Railways.
