UN Secretary-General Begins Official Visit to Pakistan

Islamabad:UN Secretary-General António Guterres has arrived in Islamabad for a three-day official visit to Pakistan, following an invitation from Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar.

According to Radio Pakistan, Guterres was welcomed by Acting Foreign Secretary Ambassador Nabeel Munir upon his arrival. During his visit, he is scheduled to meet with key Pakistani leaders, including the President, Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister, and the Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces.

Guterres will also visit the Headquarters of the United Nations Military Observer Group in India and Pakistan and attend a briefing at the National Disaster Management Authority Pakistan. His engagements aim to highlight Pakistan's efforts in strengthening multilateralism, international peace and security, and advancements in disaster preparedness and early warning systems.
