Islamabad: Polling for the first phase of the general elections of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly took place today across 13 constituencies in the Mirpur Division. The voting process, which was extended until 6:00 p.m., has now transitioned into the vote-counting stage.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Election Commission organized comprehensive arrangements to ensure the elections were conducted in a free, fair, and impartial manner. The focus was on maintaining transparency and integrity throughout the electoral process.

Commissioner of Mirpur Division, Raja Tahir Mumtaz Khan, undertook visits to various polling stations in the region. His inspections were aimed at reviewing the polling process and the overall arrangements at these polling stations, ensuring that the elections proceeded smoothly and without disruptions.
