Belarus Seeks to Strengthen Ties with Pakistan in Agriculture and Industry

Islamabad: Belarusian Minister of Internal Affairs Ivan Kubrakov, accompanied by a delegation, called on Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Islamabad. During the meeting, Kubrakov conveyed the best wishes of Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko to the Prime Minister. He expressed Belarus's keen interest in strengthening cooperation with Pakistan across various sectors, particularly agriculture and industry.

According to Radio Pakistan, Ivan Kubrakov referred to his meetings with Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Minister for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development Chaudhry Salik Hussain as highly productive and instrumental in advancing bilateral ties. Mohsin Naqvi informed the Prime Minister that the Belarusian delegation also visited the National Database and Registration Authority.

Chaudhry Salik Hussain shared that a memorandum of understanding was signed between the two countries to facilitate the deployment of skilled Pakistani workers to Belarus. Following this agreement, the formal process of sending workers will commence, with Belarus committed to providing medical and social protection benefits to Pakistani professionals.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif welcomed the Belarusian Minister and reaffirmed that Pakistan and Belarus enjoy cordial relations that continue to grow stronger with time. He extended his best wishes to President Lukashenko, recalling his own visit to Belarus earlier this year.

Shehbaz Sharif highlighted that several agreements and memorandums of understanding were signed during his visit, covering a range of sectors. He expressed satisfaction that the understanding reached regarding employment opportunities for skilled Pakistani workers has now been formalized. The Prime Minister added that Pakistan looks forward to hosting the President of Belarus in the near future.

Belarusian Minister Ivan Kubrakov thanked the Prime Minister for the warm reception and hospitality extended during his visit.
