Karachi: Cases have been registered against 12 individuals for making defamatory and inflammatory statements on social media. According to Radio Pakistan, strict action has been initiated against those spreading propaganda against the government and state institutions on social media. The government has tightened the noose around those spreading fake propaganda on social media. Sources say that so far, 12 suspects have been identified and FIRs have been lodged against them. Individuals spreading fake news and propaganda include Mian Zeeshan Sajid, Faheem Khan, Muhammad Awais, Manochehar, Aziz Ahmed, Saad Adnan Khurshid, Muhammad Asad, Malik Ismatullah Khan, Inayatullah, Sultan Mahmood Khan, Kaleemullah, and Aurangzeb. The suspects belong to Karachi, Sanghar, Quetta, Pishin, Killa Abdullah, and Swat. These suspects are involved in activities on social media that are defamatory, incite rebellion, and disrupt state affairs. Strict legal action is being taken against these and several other suspects.
