Islamabad: Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif has expressed Pakistan's desire to strengthen collaborative ties with Uzbekistan across multiple sectors. During a meeting with Uzbekistan's Ambassador Alisher Tukhtaev in Islamabad, the Defence Minister emphasized the significance of the relationship between the two nations, which is rooted in shared historical, cultural, and religious values. According to Radio Pakistan, Khawaja Asif highlighted Pakistan's intention to expand cooperation with Uzbekistan, particularly in the area of defence. This collaboration is seen as mutually beneficial, with both countries standing to gain from enhanced ties. Ambassador Tukhtaev, representing the Uzbek government and its people, reiterated Uzbekistan's commitment to working closely with Pakistan to further deepen their bilateral relations.
