Jeddah: Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar is set to embark on an official visit to Saudi Arabia to participate in the Extraordinary Session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers in Jeddah. He will travel directly from Dhaka, following the conclusion of his two-day visit to Bangladesh, to attend this high-level meeting.
According to Radio Pakistan, the meeting will bring together foreign ministers and senior officials from OIC member states to discuss coordinated responses to the escalating developments in Palestine. These discussions are taking place in light of ongoing Israeli military actions, its proposed plans for total military control over Gaza, and the ongoing violations of Palestinians' rights.
Pakistan, known for its steadfast advocacy for the Palestinian cause, consistently raises the issue at international platforms. During the upcoming OIC-CFM session, Ishaq Dar will reaffirm Pakistan's support for Palestine and reiterate its principled stance.
The Deputy Prime Minister plans to advocate for the complete withdrawal of Israel from all Occupied Palestinian Territories and reject Israel's plans for extending full military control over Gaza and further displacement of Palestinians. He will also emphasize the urgent need for unhindered humanitarian assistance and call for the restoration of the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, including the establishment of an independent, contiguous, and sovereign Palestinian state based on pre-June 1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as the capital.
In addition to his participation in the OIC-CFM, the Deputy Prime Minister is expected to hold bilateral meetings with his counterparts from key OIC member states.
