Beijing: General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, NI (M), Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) of Pakistan, participated as the Chief Guest at the commemoration ceremony of the 98th founding day of the People's Liberation Army of the People's Republic of China.

According to Inter Services Public Relations, Chairman JCSC extended heartfelt congratulations to the people of China, its military leadership, and all ranks of the People's Liberation Army (PLA). He acknowledged the pivotal role of the PLA under the leadership of President Xi Jinping in China's development and modernization, which has positioned China as a key player in global peace, stability, and prosperity. He also emphasized China's role as a stabilizing force in regional security.

In his address, General Mirza underscored the strong and enduring 'Iron-clad brotherhood' between Pakistan and China. He expressed a shared commitment to expanding the unique relationship across various domains. He reiterated Pakistan's commitment to the security of Chinese nationals in Pakistan and advancing collaboration on the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor. He also highlighted the strengthening of defense ties and the promotion of regional harmony and development.
