Islamabad: A high-level meeting chaired by Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Islamabad Police Muhammad Jawad Tariq reviewed the security arrangements for Eid days and crime prevention measures in the federal capital.
According to Radio Pakistan, the DIG Police instructed officials to ensure comprehensive security at markets, Masajid, and recreational spots during 'Chand Raat' and the Eid days. He emphasized the need for patrolling units to remain visible and ensure their patrols are both effective and purposeful.
The meeting also focused on tightening security checks at the entry and exit points of the federal capital. The DIG ordered a crackdown on individuals involved in aerial firing on 'Chaand Raat', hooliganism, and one-wheeling to maintain law and order during the celebrations.
Further directives were issued to ensure secure arrangements for Eid congregations. Jawad Tariq advised officers to engage with neighborhood committees during the Eid holidays and initiate awareness campaigns. These campaigns aim to advise citizens on securing their homes and ensuring adequate lighting arrangements before leaving for their ancestral areas to celebrate Eid.
