Gujranwala: National Emergencies Operation Center has issued an alert for heavy rains in flood-affected areas of Gujranwala, Lahore, and Gujrat divisions during the next 12 to 18 hours.
According to Radio Pakistan, these rains may exacerbate the existing flood situation as the Sutlej, Ravi, and Chenab rivers are already flowing at an unusually high rate.
The NEOC has advised the public to stay away from rivers, streams, drains, power lines, and areas where water accumulates.
It has also asked people to avoid unnecessary travel, ensure safety measures, and follow instructions of their respective administration.
