Islamabad: Pakistan and China have solidified their commitment to enhance their longstanding strategic partnership, focusing on political trust and high-level exchanges to ensure the continuation of stable and mutually beneficial bilateral relations. This agreement came as a result of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif's official visit to China, commemorating the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two nations.
According to Radio Pakistan, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif's four-day trip to China at the invitation of Chinese Premier Li Qiang highlighted significant diplomatic engagements. Meetings with President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang underscored the mutual desire to deepen the China-Pakistan All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership. Both sides agreed to advance cooperation on international and regional issues, underscoring the importance of their alliance amidst global changes.
The visit also marked a celebration of the enduring friendship between the two countries, which has remained steadfast over the past 75 years. Both nations have consistently supported each other through various global and regional challenges, showcasing the strategic asset their relationship represents.
China and Pakistan are determined to further enhance their cooperative endeavors, including defense and security cooperation, economic development under the Belt and Road initiative, and the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). They also aim to foster industrial collaboration and advance projects like the Gwadar Port, which is envisioned as a regional connectivity hub.
Pakistan has expressed its support for China's global initiatives, while China commended Pakistan's economic strategies and offered continued support in various sectors, including agriculture and space exploration. Additionally, the countries are committed to enhancing educational and cultural exchanges and have agreed on a framework for future cooperation in these areas.
