Pakistan Reaffirms Commitment to Counterterrorism Efforts Amidst International Concerns

Islamabad: Pakistan condemns terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, emphasizing zero tolerance and international cooperation as cornerstones of its policy against terrorism.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Foreign Office stated that Pakistan has been a frontline state in the fight against terrorism and has significantly contributed to global peace through its counterterrorism efforts. This includes the apprehension of Sharifullah, the mastermind behind the Abbey Gate bombing. The Foreign Office highlighted that investigations into the Pahalgam incident, which occurred in the internationally recognized disputed region of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, remain inconclusive.

The statement also addressed any alleged connections to Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), asserting that such claims do not align with the realities on the ground. Pakistan has effectively dismantled relevant organizations, arrested and prosecuted their leaders, and worked on de-radicalizing their members. The Foreign Office noted that while the issue pertains to U.S. domestic laws, India has a history of exploiting such designations to further anti-Pakistan propaganda. This is allegedly aimed at diverting international attention from India's actions, including reported human rights violations in IIOJK.

Furthermore, the Foreign Office called for the international community to adopt objective and non-discriminatory policies to combat global terrorism. It urged for the inclusion of organizations like the Majeed Brigade as aliases of the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) in terrorist listings, underscoring Pakistan's role as a counterterrorism stronghold through its sacrifices and effectiveness.
