PDMA Warns of High Flood Risk in Chenab, Ravi, and Sutlej Rivers

Lahore: Director General Provincial Disaster Management Authority Punjab Irfan Ali Kathia has announced that the water levels in Punjab's rivers are steadily rising, indicating potential risks for the region.

According to Radio Pakistan, Irfan Ali Kathia highlighted that the Chenab, Ravi, and Sutlej Rivers are experiencing an increase in water levels, with hill torrents and streams also entering a state of flood. He issued a warning regarding the possibility of high-level flooding in these rivers over the next forty-eight hours. Additionally, there is a heightened risk of flash flooding in the hill torrents of Dera Ghazi Khan.

Concurrently, Relief Commissioner Punjab Nabeel Javed stated that the provincial government has proactively established flood relief camps in affected areas, ensuring they are equipped with all essential facilities to assist those who may be impacted.
