Dubai: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has resumed its direct flights between Dubai International Airport (DXB) and Skardu (KDU), marking a strategic push to promote tourism in Pakistan’s scenic northern regions.

According to Radio Pakistan, the relaunch ceremony, held at PIA’s Dubai office, was attended by Hussain Muhammad, Pakistan’s Consul General in Dubai, along with a foreign tourist group booked on the inaugural flight, highlighting international interest in Gilgit-Baltistan’s adventure and cultural tourism.

PIA’s Regional Manager Sarmad Aizaz termed the seasonal service a ‘key initiative to enhance UAE-Pakistan travel connectivity and people-to-people ties.’ The move aligns with the airline’s turnaround after recording its first net profit in 21 years.
