Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has extended heartfelt felicitations to the Hindu community in Pakistan on their religious festival of Holi. In his message, he noted the festival of Holi reflects societal harmony through the fusion of beautiful colours. The traditions of Holi are a symbol of Pakistan's cultural diversity.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Prime Minister expressed that the Hindu community is an invaluable part of society, contributing positively to social cohesion, economic development, prosperity, and peaceful coexistence in the country. He highlighted that the Constitution of Pakistan ensures religious freedom and protection of human rights for all citizens, irrespective of colour, race, religion, or creed.

The Prime Minister stated that the government is committed to protecting the constitutional rights of all minorities. He mentioned government initiatives such as the Interfaith Harmony Policy and the Religious Tolerance Strategy as part of these efforts.

The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of collective action to promote interfaith dialogue, protect places of worship, and foster a social culture of mutual respect. He urged for a renewed national commitment towards a peaceful, inclusive, and prosperous future guided by the values of tolerance, compassion, and unity.
