PM Shehbaz Sharif Pledges Complete Polio Eradication in Pakistan

Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has reaffirmed the government's firm commitment to completely eradicate polio from Pakistan. Chairing a meeting of the National Task Force on Eradication of Polio in Islamabad, he emphasized accelerating efforts to eradicate polio.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Prime Minister highlighted that despite various challenges, the government, with the backing of international, provincial, and local teams, aims to soon achieve the goal of a polio-free Pakistan. He acknowledged the significant progress made against polio and praised the efforts and cooperation of provincial governments, Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and law enforcement agencies in the anti-polio drive.

Prime Minister Sharif stressed the importance of ensuring that every child in the country receives multiple doses of the polio vaccine to remain safe from the disease. He underscored the necessity of protecting polio workers and expressed his appreciation for the international partners supporting Pakistan's polio eradication efforts. He extended particular gratitude to Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed Bin Salman for his full support in this endeavor.
